Yurk has recorded three albums so far... starting with the first one. "Yurk I" as they decided to call it after decades of meditating about a title, is "three guys sitting in a room making noise", instead of the "six guys sitting in a room making noise" approach they adopted later on. It didn't even have a cover, so instead you'll have to look at this pretty picture of pretty Mike recording his bass track for "Ein Fall für Derrick", which was dropped from the album at the very last minute. The songs: Prelude, Ich will mit dir tanzen I, Tomato Song, Simon's Blues, Go Down Moses, Star-Spangled Banner / La Bamba, Hanno's Blues, Oh Suzanna, Sur le Pont d'Avignon, Oeuf Song, Ich will mit dir tanzen II. The musicians: Simon, Mike and Hanno. "There is musical genius hidden somewhere in here. We just haven't been able to find it yet. The lyrics are so real. The songs are about eggs and punky high-school bands. There's true emotion and passion. And I think this is a band that will go a long way. In fact I think they will do a second album and it will be called 'Yurk 2'."(review by some music magazine) |

Before I go any further, let me say that Gabriel is responsible for the artwork on "Yurk 2". The songs: introduction, Jingle Bells/Merry Christmas, The Meaning Of Life, Yurk it up (Garet Song), Mike's Blues, Karma, Bossa Boeuf, Giselda, Sam's Blues, Ganja Is Good For You, Country Boy From Nashville, La Cuisse de Boeuf, Silent Night, Ich will mit dir tanzen III, Big Boeuf. The musicians: Simon, Mike, Sam, Mendel & Hanno. guest musicians: Alex & Julien. |

The songs on "Yurk 3 - Yurk and proud of it!": Paranoid (live), My Funny Violin, Super Flying Duckman, Country Boy From Nashville, Interlude, All Along The Watchtower (live), Tatjana, Apache, Autumn Leaves, Dock Of The Bay, Take Five. The musicians: Simon, Sam, Mike, Mendel, Mathieu & Hanno. "Not only a title, but a fact. Yes, the Yurkers are proud and they deserve to be. This third record is their most accomplished so far, and I reckon it will be considered a timeless masterpiece in the centuries to come. A unique blend of styles, influences, and not just slightly out-of-tune instruments. 'Yurk'n'proud', as their fans affectionately call it, will forever stand among the most stunning works of art that music can offer. Art work so outstanding that any listener can only burst out in tears, startled by such beauty. All this and more awaits you in your listening experience, which we truly hope you will sincerely enjoy not only for the sheer beauty of the songs, but also for the incredible taste and skill of the Yurkers, playing at their top level. This record is so good that I guess I'd even buy it if I hadn't produced it. And now, ladies and gentlemen, let the music speak for itself." signed, |
